RESERVATION POLICIES AND TERMS OF SERVICE

PRICING AND PAYMENTS

To confirm your reservation, a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total tour cost is required. This deposit secures your spot and covers the costs of preparing your adventure.
The remaining 50% of the payment is due on the day of your tour, right before the activity begins.
Prices are subject to change. The final price will be the one quoted to you at the time of your reservation.

CANCELLATION AND CHANGE POLICY (REVISED AND REINFORCED)

Non-Refundable Components: Tours are sold as single, non-divisible packages. The price includes fixed logistics and pre-committed costs (such as entrance fees, local taxes, reservation of specific transportation units/guides, and pre-booked meals) based on the confirmed number of participants. Consequently, no partial refunds will be issued for unconsumed services, tickets, or meals due to participant non-attendance (No Show) or late cancellations, as these costs are committed by Mayan Horizon in advance.

Cancellations: 15 days (360 hours) or more in advance before the pickup.
Description: Cancellation 15 days or more in advance: A partial refund equivalent to 15% of the total tour cost will be issued. The remaining amount will be retained by Mayan Horizon to cover administrative and preparation expenses.

Cancellations: Less than 15 days (359 hours) before pickup (down to 24 hours).
Description: Cancellation with less than 15 days notice: The client forfeits the entire 50% non-refundable deposit. No further refund will be issued.

Notification: No Show (or less than 24 hours)
Description: If the client cancels with less than 24 hours notice, or fails to show up at the designated pickup point after a 45-minute grace period, the tour will be considered a "No Show." In this case, the client forfeits 100% of the total tour cost (meaning no refund will be issued, regardless of the amount paid).

ELIGIBILITY

Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entire tour. Some itineraries have minimum age requirements—contact us for more information.

CHANGES

If you need to reschedule your tour, we will be happy to assist you subject to availability. Please note that by rescheduling, you waive the option to request a refund for cancellation in the future.

Notification: 96 hours or more before pickup
Extra Charge: (0%)
Description: Changes with 96 hours or more notice: No extra charge will be applied.

Notification: 72 hours to 95 hours before pickup
Extra Charge: (15% of the total cost of the selected tour)
Description: Changes with 72 to 95 hours notice: An extra charge of 15% of the total tour cost will be applied.

Notification: Less than 72 hours before pickup
Extra Charge: (35% of the total cost of the selected tour)
Description: Changes with less than 72 hours notice: An extra charge of 35% of the total tour cost will be applied.

NOT INCLUDED:

Activities noted as optional in the itinerary; medical expenses and immunizations; baggage, accident, and cancellation insurance; personal expenses, such as laundry, telephone calls, and alcoholic beverages; and any other items not specifically noted as included.

PHOTOGRAPHY:

Mayan Horizon reserves the right to take photographs or videos during any tour to be used for promotional or commercial purposes. By making a reservation, the participant agrees to allow their likeness to be used without compensation. If you prefer that your likeness not be used, you must notify us in writing prior to the departure of the expedition.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION:


If a participant has a complaint, they should first inform the tour operator or local guide during the tour so they can attempt to resolve the matter. If the participant is still dissatisfied, they should submit the complaint in writing to Mayan Horizon within 30 days of the completion of the tour.

ITINERARY CHANGES:

The itineraries and staff presented are subject to modification and change by Mayan Horizon. Every reasonable effort will be made to operate programs as planned, but alterations may occur even after final itineraries are sent.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:

Participants must be in good physical and mental health. Any physical condition, diet, or treatment requiring special attention must be reported in writing when the reservation is made. We encourage participants to consult a doctor for specific medical advice.

LIABILITY:

Mayan Horizon and its partners shall not be held liable for any damage to, or loss of, property or injury to, or death of, persons occasioned by an act or omission of any other provider, nor for any loss or damage due to delay, cancellation, or disruption caused by acts of God, war, terrorism, fire, flood, or any other cause beyond our control. The client waives any claim against the Tour Operator for any such loss, damage, injury, or death.

FORCE MAJEURE:

Mayan Horizon will not be liable for any failure to commence, perform, or complete any duty owed to you if such failure is caused by an Act of God, war, riot, fire, extreme weather, or any other cause whatsoever beyond our reasonable control; or an event which Mayan Horizon, even with all due care, could not foresee.

RESPONSIBILITY

By booking or participating in a tour and any related products or services provided by MAYAN HORIZON confirms your acceptance of the changes and cancellation policies detailed in this document.
